SORRY, SOLD! 1948 Triumph Norm-6 Typewriter with Interesting Provenance

This is an exceptional Triumph Norm-6 Typewriter with a Spanish QWERTY keyboard. These typewriters are "triumphs" of technical engineering. The typing feel is, seriously, as smooth as silk! It has the finest softest feel of any early, post-war typewriter. You can try it in our gallery in The Hague, or you'll have to take my word for it. It comes with the original hard, steel case and the original brushes and polishing cloth.
This typewriter was originally purchased new, in Spain, by a young (unpublished) German poet who refused military service during World War 2 and escaped to Spain for the duration of the conflict. In the late 1950s he returned to Germany. 
Cosmetically, you can see that it is in excellent condition. The blue paint on the paper-bail and the chrome band around the ribbon cover is in a very fine state of preservation. As are all other aspects of the typewriter. Mechanically it is also in excellent condition. Everything works perfectly as original. The chrome is in top condition. The platen is clean and smooth and makes a fine impression on the paper. A few of the keytops are mildly discoloured, and a couple have some top wear. Beyond that, this typewriter is superb!
The keyboard, as mentioned, is original Spanish QWERTY (quite rare for this model and time) and the typeface is PICA (10 cpi). It comes with a new ribbon on two original, metal ribbon spools.
The case is a solid metal case in good condition. It is very strong but has marks of use and wear. The bottom plate has heavy scratching on the exterior and there is a small piece missing on the hasp. But the case still works perfectly after decades of doing its protective job very well!

History of the Triumph Typewriters: Two Germans, Siegfried Bettmann and M. Schulte, founded in 1890 “Triumph Cycle Company Ltd” in England, which ultimately produced the famous Triumph motorcycles. In 1896 they decided to establish a subsidiary “Triumph-Fahrrad-Werke AG” in Nürnberg.  In 1907, the Hamburg based company “ Ehrlich &Riegelmann” introduced its typewriter Noriga. In 1909 “Deutsche Triumph-Fahrrad-Werke” took over the bankrupt company and its patent for the Noriga typewriter. The same year the typewriter was introduced with its new name Triumph. In 1911 the company was renamed “Triumph Werke Nürnberg AG”. During World War I production of typewriters was halted. In 1920 Triumph Werke started making typewriters again with the prewar model 2. During World War II production of typewriters ceased as arms production was started. In 1979 the company was acquired by Volkswagen and in 1986 by the Italian typewriter firm Olivetti.
