1951 Olivetti Sem-Standard (Studio 42) Typewriter

This is an Olivetti Semi-Standard (also known as the Studio 42) from the middle of the last century, 1951.  The keyboard is QWERTY so no confusion about where the letters are when you are typing!
It has been fully refurbished: cleaned, serviced, adjusted and aligned--and outfitted with a new ribbon. It has a cool, modern styling although it is almost 70 years old. The Semi-Standard model comes with the tabulator system. And when you use it the carriage just moves so smoothly and gently along. Lovely! The typing feel of this typewriter is very nice and will suit you if you want to type for long stretches—or short ones!
This Olivetti is in overall very nice cosmetic condition. The chrome is in beautiful condition and the rubber on the platen is clean and smooth. There is a small dent in the top of the back panel but beyond that the cosmetic condition is excellent with only very small signs of use.
Mechanically, this Semi-Standard works just great. I have gone over everything and brought it back to full and proper working order. The paper feeder rollers are soft and grip the paper well. The rubber feet are in fine condition and hold the typewriter steady on the desk. This typewriter is ready to type for another 70 years. The typeface is Elite (11 cpi) and it has a new ribbon so you can start typing immediately.
