1952 Gossen-Tippa (Pilot) Typewriter — Super-portable!
  • 1952 Gossen-Tippa (Pilot) Typewriter — Super-portable!

    € 320,00Prijs

This rare, super-portable Gossen Tippa typewriter, from 1952, is in excellent overall condition. It is a beautiful sand or sable colour and comes with its original Tippa-Boy case. It also comes with the original key for the case. This typewriter has been fully restored, cleaned, lubricated and adjusted. It embodies really innovative technical aspects and is incredibly slim and light. It is wonderful to use and absolutely lovely to look at! A lovely combination of inspired mid-century industrial design and German engineering!

This is a fully-working--as original--typewriter. The only thing that you have to do is sit down, put paper on the roller and start typing.

Like all of our typewriters this is a fully-working typewriter. It comes with the "Acme" lead certification seal attached to the typewriter which permanently identifies it as a genuine Acme-restored typewriter. We have a one-year mechanical warranty on all typewriters sold and provide careful and attentive after-purchase advice and assistance from the date of purchase to the end of eternity to ensure your full satisfaction. In terms of an investment, the Acme Seal proves that this machine was restored by the Acme Type Machine Company. This can add value in the event that you wish to sell this typewriter in the future.

This typewriter is in excellent cosmetic condition and working perfectly. The Gossen Tippa logo is bright and shiny. All the chrome is in fine condition with only some slight signs of age and use. The finish is, in principle, unblemished with only a few very minor signs of use or wear. Perhaps the only thing really to note is that the spacebar has some wear on the front side. As mentioned, it has been fully cleaned inside and out, and has a new ribbon.

Mechanically this Tippa is in top working condition. Everything works as it should and as originally designed. The rubber on the platen roller is in fine condition with a durometer reading of ~94 (Ideal being between 85-95. The paper feed rollers are in excellent condition. The rubber feet have been replaced and hold the typewriter well to the desktop.

The natural leather coloured case is in good condition although it has signs of wear. The hasp works perfectly and is shiny and uncorroded.  The interior is in exceptional condition with pockets for papers, the and other necessary supplies.

The typeface is Pica (10 cpi). As compared to many Tippas of this epoch that I see for sale, this has the original QWERTY keyboard common to English language writers. It has accents needed to write in other European languages, too.
