Olympia SM3 1954

This is a beautiful, fully restored, 1954, OLYMPIA SM3 typewriter, in Sage-Green colour with deep-green keys and forest-green accents. It is in excellent condition in every way. Overall, the crinkle finish appears fresh and textured giving a "softness" to the otherwise hard metal of the machine. This typewriteer has been fully cleaned, lubricated, aligned and adjusted.  It has a new Acme Signature blue ribbon and is ready for some serious typing.
This is a fully-working--as original--typewriter. The only thing that you have to do is sit down, put paper on the roller and start typing. This Olympia comes with the "Acme" lead certification seal attached to the typewriter under the keyboard. This seal permanently identifies this typewriter as a genuine Acme-restored typewriter and provides for a 6-month warranty at no charge. (See below for details.) We guarantee safe delivery and provide careful and attentive after-purchase advice and assistance from the date of purchase to the end of eternity to ensure your full satisfaction. In terms of an investment, the Acme Seal proves that this machine was restored in 2020 by the Acme Type Machine Company. This can add value in the event that you wish to sell this typewriter in the future.
The colour on this SM3 is a sage-green with the very deep green keys and lighter-coloured platen roller knobs and spacebar. It is a very handsome combination. 
For many, the Olympia SM model line represents the pinnacle of quality in typewriters. It is one of the most well-engineered, solid, durable and usable desktop typewriter models ever manufactured. It is perfect for a fast typer, or a slower one.
The keyboard is standard German language QWERTZ, and the typeface is Olympia's Congress Elite No. 88 (11 c.p.i.). This is a truly elegant typeface. (I am often asked if it is easy to "get used to" a QWERTZ keyboard. The answer is: Yes, for most people.
Regarding the rubber: Platen Roller is smooth and clean with a hardness measurement of ~94 (Ideal is between 85 and 95). If desired, a new platen can be ordered after purchase at a cost of 95€. The Paper Feeder Rollers are clean and soft. The rubber feet are clean and soft.
Regarding the chrome: Perfect.
Regarding the Body condition: No blemishes or fading.
Regarding the mechanical condition: Working perfectly.
This typewriter really proves the notion that Olympia typewriters are some of the finest typing machines ever made. The typing action is wonderfully smooth and solid, swift and efficient. This is a typewriter to use and treasure, something to pass along to the next generation. Really a marvelous machine in perfect condition.
Based on the serial number (572834) this machine was manufactured in 1954. This was only the second year of production for the SM3 model typewriters. 
Unfortunately, over the years the case for this typewriter has disappeared. A replacement case can be requested after purchase at a charge of 50€.

Notes on the 6-month Mechanical Warranty: Should anything require repair on the typewriter the Acme Type Machine Company (an established company in the Netherlands with Chamber of Commerce registration 74166247) will repair it free of charge when shipped to our workshop. Due to the costs of shipping and the possibilities therein for damage during the shipping process we will work with you to make any required adjustments or repairs at home prior to taking the step to ship it to our workshop in Holland. Should it be preferable due to costs involved, we will also discuss the possibility of bringing it to a local professional typewriter repair service to make the necessary repairs. 
The warranty does not cover damage due to mishandling, incorrect use or dropping the typewriter, or for ordinary typewriter maintenance such as ribbon changing, platen roller renovation, character adjustment due to extensive use etc.
