SORRY, SOLD! 1954 Torpedo Model 20 Typewriter
This nice example of a mid-century Torpedo, Model 20 typewriter is wonderful suited for the outdoor enthusiast--someone who wants to take their writing with them. It would be a very handy typewriter for bird-watchers, fly-fishers, equestrians and others. While it is a very nice typing machine that sits nicely on the desktop, it is also easily packed into its "bomb-proof" case and transported to other locations. It is somewhat smaller than a typical desktop typewriter and so takes up less space on a desktop or shelf. This is a wonderful all-around typewriter with speedy typing action.
This portable Torpedo is a solid typing machine and is in very nice condition mechanically and cosmetically. The only cosmetic flaws are some light corrosion on the chrome band around the ribbon cover, and some small paint loss behind the left-side carriage knob. The accompanying case, with a bold Torpedo logo on top, is in fine condition including the leather handle and the chromed hasp. This uncommon model of Torpedo typewriter has been fully refurbished: serviced, cleaned, adjusted and aligned, and has been outfitted with a new ribbon from Baco Ribbon & Supply in Missouri (considered by many collectors to be the best ribbons available). This typewriter is ready for many more decades of service.

The typeface is a precise Pica (10 cpi). The keyboard is QWERTY, with Spanish letters and accents also. This typewriter comes with a new bi-colour ribbon so that you can start typing immediately.
