Adler Privat 1955

This is an uncommon typewriter, a 1955 Adler Privat. This is a very unusual typewriter in that it is made from cast-aluminum and some of the innovative technical design is radically different than most typewriters. With all that it is an excellent typewriter with some of the "snappiest" action (read: fast and light) of any portable typewriter. It has been fully cleaned, serviced, aligned and adjusted. It has a new two-colour ribbon and comes with a carrying case in excellent condition. 
This is a fully-working--as original--typewriter. The only thing that you have to do is sit down, put paper on the roller and start typing. It comes with the Acme seal and a full mechanical warranty for 6 months. The keyboard is the standard English language QWERTY with accents for foreign languages. The typeface is Pica (10 c.p.i.). It comes with a new bi-colour ribbon.
Regarding the rubber: Platen Roller is smooth and clean with a durometer reading of ~95 (ideal rating is considered between 85-95). The paper feed rollers are soft and in excellent condition. The rubber on the feet is soft and pliable and gripping the desktop well.
Regarding the chrome: Perfect and unblemished.
Regarding the Body condition: The colour is uniform and the only blemishes are some scuffing on the back side of the ribbon cover and an area of light rubbing on the left side of the cover under the carriage lever.
Regarding the mechanical condition: Working perfectly, as originally manufactured.
Comes with the original case which, too, is in excellent condition inside and outside. The case, too, is cast  aluminum. It has wonderful attached plastic "racing stripes" for protection and aesthetics.
Based on the serial number (3041132) this machine was manufactured in 1955.

Notes on the 6-month Mechanical Warranty: Should anything require repair on the typewriter the Acme Type Machine Company (an established company in the Netherlands with Chamber of Commerce registration 74166247) will repair it free of charge when shipped to our workshop. Due to the costs of shipping and the possibilities therein for damage during the shipping process we will work with you to make any required adjustments or repairs at home prior to taking the step to ship it to our workshop in Holland. Should it be preferable due to costs involved, we will also discuss the possibility of bringing it to a local professional typewriter repair service to make the necessary repairs. 
The warranty does not cover damage due to mishandling, incorrect use or dropping the typewriter, or for ordinary typewriter maintenance such as ribbon changing, platen roller renovation, character adjustment due to extensive use etc.
