ALPINA Typewriter Model SK24 1956

This is a rare, Alpina SK24 from 1956, considered by many to be a masterpiece of design, both mechanical and aesthetic. The SK model has the desirable "Tab" function. This typewriter has been fully restored and conserved to our highest standards. It is fully working in all details and is in exceptionally fine condition overall. It comes with the original Alpina cleaning brushes.
The ALPINA is perhaps the greatest, most sensual pleasure that you will ever have behind a typewriter keyboard. It is smooth and swift beyond words. And with the beautiful, curved green form in front of you, you feel that you have been transported back in time and into a universe of aesthetic beauty and a time of elegance and style. These machine are rightly famed for their exquisite mechanics and their wonderful design characteristics.
The beautiful green colour (original and un-retouched), and modern (for the 50's) styling make this a remarkable typewriter to look at. 
The typeface is Pica 10 cpi. (see example in photos). The keyboard is the French keyboard (AZERTY).
In superior cosmetic condition and working perfectly. The original colour is uniform everywhere on the typewriter and the finish is unblemished except for the slightest wear behind the right-side platen roller knob.
Mechanically it is in "as-new" condition. It was rarely used during its last decades of life and carefully maintained as well.
Based on the serial number (73396) this machine is from 1956.
This Alpina comes with its original hard case which is in superb condition, both inside and outside.
The original key is, sadly, lost.
