Olympia portable typewriter, 1958

I rarely buy these cream-coloured Olympia portables because they cream finish has usually been damaged by sun-exposure. But this one I just had to have. The light-cream colour seems untouched by the sun, and what a complement to the lovely maroon-coloured typing keys. Just a lovely combination that will look terrific on your desktop or even on the shelf. This colour combination was mostly sold in Germany and I LOVE it. But  this one has the original QWERTY keyboard and was manufactured for the Dutch market.
This Olympia Model SF typewriter, from 1958, is in beautiful condition mechanically and cosmetically! It has been professionally serviced, aligned and adjusted comes with a new ribbon and is ready to type! It has a QWERTY keyboard, and a very handsome Pica typeface (10 characters to the inch). It comes with a carrying case in excellent condition.
Olympia typewriters are some of the most well-engineered, solid, durable and usable typewriters ever manufactured. The SF model-series was their early definition of what a modern portable typewriter should be. This is a high-quality typewriter, very reliable and having a very nice typing feel.

Mechanically it is working perfectly, as originally manufactured. Cosmetically, it is in excellent condition with only some very tiny cosmetic signs of use and long-life.. The chrome is in top condition as is the overall finish. The colouring is uniform, unmarred by sun-fading or overuse. The rubber on the feet and feeder rollers is in top condition and still appropriately soft. The platen is in exceptionally nice condition: smooth, clean and with an appropriate typing hardness/softness.
 
The case is in very fine condition with only minimal signs of use or wear The brass on the handle has some light corrosion on only one side and is not as shiny as ideal. But this is a strong and very nice looking case overall. The zipper closes completely, without and hassle, but is showing signs of wear.
 
This wonderful example of an OLYMPIA Model SF typewriter will be packed and shipped with the greatest care to preserve its condition and beauty.
