Olympia SM4 Typewriter 1958

We are pleased to offer this exceptional OLYMPIA SM4 DeLuxe typewriter manufactured in 1958.  This Olympia is in superb condition in every way and has been professionally serviced, aligned and adjusted. The platen roller has been refurbished with new rubber by one of the oldest factories in Europe. It has a new ribbon with two and comes with a hard case.
This is an extraordinary typewriter that was produced during the first year of production of the SM4 model-line. It has an elegant and profound presence on your desk or in your office. This typewriter is truly a "statement" on the desk of any serious screenwriter, journalist, novelist or even the occasional letter-writer. It is an extraordinary writing instrument for an extraordinary person.

The SM series of typewriters from the Olympia factories in Germany are considered by many to be the "gold-standard" of what a modern portable typewriter should be. The SM4 is probably the pinnacle of that technical excellence and engineering brilliance among the SM models. It is perfect for a fast typer, or a slower one.
Mechanically this typewriter is in top working condition. Everything works as it should and as originally designed. The rubber on the platen roller, as stated, is new and the rubber on the paper feed rollers is in excellent condition and appropriately soft. 
The body finish is without marks of wear or use. The chrome is in perfect condition. The rubber parts (feeder rollers, feet, etc.) are pliant and like-new. The platen, as stated has new rubber. The typing keys are unworn by use. It is in lovely overall cosmetic condition.
The keyboard is original QWERTY, and the typeface is Olympia's Pica (10 c.p.i.). 
Comes with the original case which is in fine condition. On the outside of the case there are minor signs of wear. The interior has minor marks where the typewriter feet have sat for decades and some light discolouration. The original Olympia branded cleaning brush is included.
