Supermetall KsT Typewriter 1961

What a presence this typewriter has on a desk, in a room! This is a 1961, Supermetall KsT typewriter with a wonderful two-tone blue colour that gives it a look that is both gentle and powerful. It has a hip 1960s sleekness to the design. Supermetall, manufactured by Rheinmetall is known by typewriter enthusiasts to be a very high-quality typing machine. The body colour finish is completely original. This typewriter has been well-protected and very well cared-for during its lifetime. The KsT model is well known among typewriter enthusiasts as a wonderful typing machine. It has a lovely mid-century design, which makes it a very stylish typewriter indeed. It comes with a lovely, faux-leather case in fine condition, the original Supermetall cleaning brushes, polishing cloth and User Manual.

Mechanically this typewriter is in perfect working condition. All systems have been checked and adjusted or aligned as necessary. It has been thoroughly cleaned and properly lubricated for years of service.All the chrome is unblemished and uncorroded. The keytops are in excellent condition without any signs of fingernail scratching or any other damage. Everything works as it should and as originally designed. 
This typewriter has a very nice and soft typing "touch". This is a Model KsT and therefore has the tabulator system.  
The keyboard is standard QWERTY. This is the original keyboard and has not been changed from the german QWERTZ keyboard as many of these are. The typeface is Elite (12 c.p.i.) and is a very nice, elegant font. Sometime in the past, one of the fraction keys was replaced with the characters: "0" (zero) and "+".  The platen roller is smooth, clean and soft, with an ideal durometer reading of ~88 (ideal is considered to be between 82 and 95). The Paper Feeder Rollers are new-like and soft. The Feet are new-like and soft.
It comes with the original case which is in fine condition inside and outside. There are a couple of very minor blemishes on the outside of the case and the edges of the handle show some wear. The interior has minor marks where the typewriter feet have sat for decades and some small marks of usage and wear.
