SORRY, SOLD! 1961 Torpedo Model 18-B Typewriter

The famous "Model 18" from Torpedo is one of the most respected of typewriters. It is a handsome looking typewriter and a dream to type on. Here is an extraordinary example from 1961 in a fabulous, original two-tone colour combination. It is a solid work-horse and is in excellent condition cosmetically and in full, original working condition mechanically. The platen has been professionally renovated with new rubber and it has been outfitted with a new Acme Signature Blue ribbon.  The typing action is wonderfully fast and solid. With the new platen, it is a true pleasure to type with. 
Like all of our typewriters this is a fully-working typewriter. It comes with the "Acme" lead certification seal attached to the typewriter which permanently identifies it as a genuine Acme-restored typewriter and provides for a one year warranty. The platen roller on this typewriter has been professionally renovated by one of the oldest rubber companies in Europe.  The feet are in fine condition and are soft and grip the desktop well. (If you know Model 18's, you know that this is a weak point of the design--but not on this typewriter!) 
The typeface is a lovely Pica with 10 characters to the inch (see photo). The keyboard is QWERTY with characters for European languages. You can see in the photos an example of the crisp, clear and dark letters that this machine produces. 
This Torpedo Model 18 comes with its original case which also is in extraordinarily fine condition.
