Princess 300 1963
This Princess 300, from 1963, is in nearly perfect condition. The colour is all original and has not be over-painted. This typewriter has been fully restored, cleaned, lubricated and adjusted. It is a lovely combination of inspired mid-century industrial design and German engineering! Princess typewriters are very highly regarded by top collectors and by users as well, for the brilliantly engineered mechanics, the careful manufacture and the solidity and durability of the machine.
This lovely PRINCESS 300 is a pleasure in every way. So smooth to type with, so beautiful to look at. The combination of cream-coloured keys and ribbon cover with the green body gives this typewriter a retro look with a very modern flair. The gold Princess logo is shiny and bright as new.
This Princess 300 will be shipped, fully insured, without additional cost to you and comes with a three-month mechanical guarantee.
This typewriter is in excellent cosmetic condition and working perfectly. It has been serviced, adjusted and fully cleaned inside and out, and has a new ribbon so you can start typing immediately.
Mechanically this Princess is in top working condition. It comes with a newly renovated platen roller for soft and smooth typing. All the chrome is unblemished and uncorroded. It is fully working as designed and as originally. The rubber on the paper feed rollers is in fine, soft condition. The rubber feet on the base are in wonderful condition, still soft and gripping the desktop well.
The keytops are in very nice condition but have some light fingernail scratches on a few keys. Everything works as it should and as originally designed. The original paint is in excellent overall condition. The only slight cosmetic "issues" are a few very small areas of paint loss on the green body on the rear panel and a very few spots here and there. These are shown in the photos.
The lovely faux calf-leather case is in excellent, original condition. The interior paper flap is in excellent condition and the snap closure works well. The interior case fabric is in fine condition. There is a small area on the front of the case where the stitching has been worn away but the rest of the stitching is solid and intact.
The ribbon selector switch on the left is as cool as they come. When you switch to red or no-colour a little colour-block comes into the glass window above the switch. What a wonderful touch!
Tabs are set (and removed) at the touch of a finger with the special key on the right side.
The typeface is a lovely Elite (11 cpi). As compared to many Princesses I see for sale, this has the original QWERTY keyboard common to English language writers. The keyboard has NOT been adapted from a QWERTZ keyboard, so you have all the keys in the place where you are accustomed to having them. Note that the alignment of uppercase and lowercase letters is true. The serial number is 288271, dating the year of manufacture to 1963.
