The beautiful khaki-green and cream combination is soft and welcoming—as is the feel of the typing keys when using it. It has a new bi-colour ribbon and comes with its original case. This is the original colour and finish; it has not been repainted. This typewriter will be a wonderful writing tool for any serious poet, screenwriter, journalist, novelist or even the occasional letter-writer. It is an extraordinary writing instrument for an extraordinary person. It is a lovely combination of inspired mid-century industrial design and German engineering!
Acme typewriters have been the choice of discerning collectors and writers more than 1,000 times since we began selling online in 2016. We safely ship your typewriter from our gallery in the Netherlands and delivery time to the US averages only 3 days—this is a quicker delivery time even than most domestic shipments within the US! Acme typewriters are guaranteed to arrive safely at your door, are covered by a 1-year warranty, and come with lifetime customer-care.
With an ACME Typewriter, you know you are getting a fully-working--as original--typewriter. The only thing that you have to do is sit down, put paper on the roller and start typing. Your typewriter comes with the "Acme" lead certification seal which permanently identifies it as a genuine Acme-restored typewriter and provides for a one-year warranty at no charge. In terms of an investment, the Acme Seal proves that this machine was restored in 2023 by the Acme Type Machine Company. This can add value in the event that you wish to sell this typewriter in the future.
We have restored dozens of these Princess typewriters over the years and I am always impressed by the overall high quality, mechanical design and the smoothness with which they operate.
This typewriter is working perfectly. It is has been carefully serviced and is 100% original in all its parts. The silver Princess logo is bright and shiny. All the chrome is in perfect condition. The keytops are in perfect condition. The painted finish only has the tiniest of scratches on the back side of the typewriter where it has two small bumpers to rest against the carrying case.
The lovely, original case is in superb condition. The hasp works perfectly. The interior lining is overall in excellent condition. The exterior of this lovely faux-leather case has only the slightest signs of wear and usage.
The typeface is a lovely Pica (10 cpi). The keyboard is QWERTY with extra letters and accents for European languages. The platen is harder than ideal, measuring around 94 on the hardness scale (85 to 95 being the best). However, as you can see from the typing sample, the impression is excellent. A new platen can be ordered at a cost of 110$. We have these in stock so it will not delay your receiving the typewriter.
