Erika Typewriter, Model 12 (1963)

A very nice ERIKA Model 12 typewriter from 1963. Comes complete with original case. It has been fully restored, adjusted and cleaned. A new BACO, two-colour ribbon has been installed for you to start typing immediately. In fine condition cosmetically and mechanically.

This Model 12 is the "Pullman" model which has a small lever on the right which allows the ribbon cover to raise gently for ribbon replacement, cleaning, inspection, etc.

The styling is sublime, the typing action is springy and fast, yet solid to the touch. The lovely deep green colour of the keys and platen knobs add a rich counterpoint to the colour scheme. It has a QWERTY international (with accents for foreign languages) keyboard and the typeface is a beautiful Erika Pica (10 cpi).

Overall, the typewriter is in very good condition, both mechanically and cosmetically. All keys type as new, the platen-roller is clean, undamaged and still soft with a durometer reading of 94-95. The Chrome is in fine condition, and all levers and buttons work as original. The rubber feet are in excellent and soft condition. The original green finish has some signs of usage and wear. These are visible in the photographs. One note: In some of the photos it may seem that the body finish colour has faded somewhat. This is not the case. It only is a reflection on my poor photographic skills. The colour of the entire body is uniform.

This Model 12 comes with the original "leather" case. The case is in excellent condition, with only some wear in one corner of the interior. The only thing missing is the key.

The serial number is 3001533 marking this as being manufactured in 1963. The paint is all original, as are all other aspects of this beautiful typewriter.
