Olivetti Typewriter, ICO, Model MP1

This is an Olivetti Typewriter, ICO, MP1, 1947, Excellent working and cosmetic condition, portable, new ribbon. It is an excellent example of the ICO MP1 typewriter. It has no blemishes on the body and is in excellent working condition. This typewriter has been cleaned, serviced and adjusted and has a new ribbon so you can start typing immediately.

Regarding the rubber: Platen Roller is smooth and clean. The Paper Feeder Rollers are still in good condition and soft. The rubber feet are intact and still grip the desktop.
Regarding the chrome: Perfect.
Regarding the Body and finish condition: Perfect
Regarding the typing keys: all properly aligned and without blemishes from use or wear
Regarding the ICO logo badge: the photos seem to show it as slightly scratched, which in highly detailed close-up it is. However "in real life" it looks perfect.

The platen, as mentioned is smooth and clean with no pits or other blemishes. The durometer reading shows a hardness of 93-94. (Ideal is commonly considered to be 85-95.)

The keyboard is international QWERTY. That means it has the commonly used English keyboard layout with the addition of accents for European languages. The characters have all been carefully aligned and adjusted for an even line of typing. The typeface is PICA 10 cpi. (see example in photos)

This is a Model MP1 portable, ICO model (ICO stands for Ingegnere Camillo Olivetti). This is the first portable designed and manufactured by the Olivetti Company in Ivrea, Italy.

This OLIVETTI MP 1 comes with its original hard case, with key, in very good condition--strong and safe. The only problem with the case is that the hasp is broken and will not latch closed.

Based on the serial number (112566) this machine is from 1947.
