Olympia SM4 Typewriter—Virtually New! with leather case

We are pleased to offer this "virtually new" OLYMPIA SM4 DeLuxe typewriter manufactured in 1959. It is very rare to find a typewriter in this extraordinarily fine condition. We call this colour combination "Coffee & Cream". It has been professionally serviced, aligned and adjusted. The platen roller has been refurbished with new rubber by one of the oldest factories in Europe. It has a new ribbon on its two original metal ribbon spools and comes with a deluxe, leather case. If you are looking for an absolutely extraordinary typewriter that works extraordinarily well, you need look no further.
With cream-coloured body and deep-brown keys, it has an elegant and profound presence on your desk or in your office. This typewriter is truly a "statement" on the desk of any serious screenwriter, journalist, novelist or even the occasional letter-writer. It is an extraordinary writing instrument for an extraordinary person.
The case is an uncommon deLuxe leather case in absolutely perfect condition. It has no marks of wear or usage on the exterior, the chrome is perfect and unscratched, and the interior has only the faintest marks where the feet of the typewriter rested for 6 decades. The case comes with the original key.
For many, the Olympia SM4 is considered to be the "King of the Typewriters". It is one of the most well-engineered, solid, durable and usable typewriter models ever manufactured. The SM series of typewriters from the Olympia factories in Germany are considered by many to be the "gold-standard" of what a modern portable typewriter should be. The SM4 is probably the pinnacle of that technical excellence and engineering brilliance among the SM models. It is perfect for a fast typer, or a slower one.

The keyboard can be either QWERTY or QWERTZ, depending on your preference, and the typeface is Olympia's Pica (10 c.p.i.). The keyboard has keys for various European languages. There is a new ribbon so you can start typing immediately.
Mechanically this typewriter is in superb working condition. Everything works as it should and as originally designed. The rubber on the platen roller, as stated, is new and the rubber on the paper feed rollers is in excellent condition and appropriately soft.
