Rheinmetall Typewriter, Kst model (1956)
This is a 1956 RHEINMETALL "KsT" typewriter with tabulator system, fully working and in lovely cosmetic condition. If you know Rheinmetall typewriters, you are familiar with the "tight" feel of the typing. Tight and smooth and fast. And there is a real feel of mechanical integrity also. These machines were well engineered and well put together.
It comes to you with a full mechanical guarantee for three months and with free shipping.
In excellent cosmetic condition and in top mechanical condition. This typewriter has been serviced, adjusted and fully cleaned inside and out, and has a new Baco, bi-colour ribbon so you can start typing immediately.
Mechanically, this typewriter is in top working condition. Cosmetically, it has a tiny chip on the left side just below the spacebar and some very minor discolouration on the bottom of the lower back panel. Beyond that, it is in perfect condition.
The platen is in excellent condition and is wonderfully soft, with a durometer reading of around 94 (92-95 being generally accepted as ideal). The paper feeder rollers and the feet are soft and very usable.
Based on the serial number (44869) this machine is from 1956.
This typewriter, like most Rheinmetalls, has a removable carriage for cleaning, adjustment and repairs.
This typewriter has an international keyboard with a QWERTY (US/UK standard) layout and Pica typeface (10 cpi). It comes with one original metal ribbon spool and a new BACO two-colour ribbon.
