Triumph Tippa "Field" Typewriter, 1960
With its khaki & cream colouring this beautiful Triumph typewriter is well-suited for use in the field or on a desk at your hunting cabin, beach-house, lakeside home or even on Safari. It will look particularly good on your desktop overlooking the lake or the fields or forests outside your window. And it is a marvelously smooth typer! Put it into the handsome leather case to take to the beach, onto a boat, to the horse-show, wherever!
And what a superb portable typewriter this is! It is extraordinary in a variety of ways. Its deluxe leather case is handsome and strong, the typewriter is in exceptionally fine condition. This Tippa is one of the very first of this model that were made. Its serial number is the lowest of any recorded, and so it could be a prototype or just a very, very early version of the well-known and well-respected Triumph Tippa model-line. It comes with the original User Manual (in Spanish) and was previously owned by a respected Spanish sportsman and businessman.
Like all of our typewriters this is a fully-working typewriter. It comes with the "Acme" lead certification seal attached to the typewriter which permanently identifies it as a genuine Acme-restored typewriter and provides for a one year warranty. We guarantee safe delivery and provide careful and attentive after-purchase advice and assistance from the date of purchase to the end of eternity to ensure your full satisfaction. In terms of an investment, the Acme Seal proves that this machine was restored by the Acme Type Machine Company. This can add value in the event that you wish to sell this typewriter in the future.
Cosmetically, I have not seen a better example of the Triumph Tippa. There are no blemishes to the exterior except for a small area of reddening on the two side plates of the carriage where a red ribbon must have lain for decades. Otherwise it is in pristine condition. (On the photo of the base there is a slight white smudge on one side--the remnants of a cleaning product--it will be removed.)
Mechanically this typewriter is in perfect working condition. All systems have been checked and adjusted or aligned as necessary. It has been thoroughly cleaned and properly lubricated for years of service. All the chrome is unblemished and uncorroded. The keytops are in excellent condition without any signs of fingernail scratching or any other damage. Everything works as it should and as originally designed. The external finish is original and has not been over- or re-painted.
The keyboard is standard QWERTY with additional keys for Spanish characters and other European languages. The typeface is a beautiful Congress Elite (12 c.p.i.) which is a very nice, elegant font. The platen roller is smooth, clean and soft, with a rubber-hardness reading of ~94 (ideal is considered to be between 82 and 95). The Paper Feeder Rollers are new-like and soft. The feet have been newly replaced and will grip the desktop well--so, no sliding around during typing!
The original case is in fine condition inside and outside. The exterior has some wear to the threads but is quite solid and strong. The handle has a couple of superficial cracks in the leather but is strong. The interior is in nearly perfect condition with a roomy pocket to hold papers.
This extraordinary example of a Triumph Tippa typewriter will be packed and shipped with the greatest care to preserve its condition and beauty. We have a lot of experience in shipping typewriters and have an excellent track record for proper packing and safe delivery.
