Everest Model 90 Typewriter 1949
This is a very fine example of the EVEREST Model 90 typewriter from 1949. It is a beautiful expression of mid-century Italian design, in extraordinarily fine condition, mechanically and cosmetically.

Look at the beautiful blue and gold logo on the front--and the "art deco" style lettering that says "Mod. 90". These are such beautiful details in the wonderful Italian design of this machine. And the orange dealer's decal adds a beautiful accent to the design.
This Everest has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, adjusted and aligned. The platen is in excellent condition, smooth, clean and correctly soft with an excellent typing hardness reading of ~92 (ideal: 85-95). The body finish is original and is uniform with very few signs of age or use. This is a typing machine that is ready to work for many further years of typing service.

The Everest typewriters were manufactured by the Societa Anonima Serio Officine Meccaniche di Precisione in Italy. It is one of the few great Italian typewriter manufacturers, the most renowned of which is Olivetti. The company began typewriter production in 1932 and was taken over by the Olivetti Company in 1962. This model Everest typewriter is in the collection of the Victoria Museum in Australia.
This Everest comes with a new bi-colour ribbon and the two original metal spools. It has an "international" QWERTY keyboard with accents for European languages. The typeface is a handsome Pica (10 cpi).
Overall, this typewriter is in excellent condition. All the chrome is in top condition. The body finish has only a very few signs of age and use. Mechanically, it is in excellent working condition. All mechanical devices (including, but not exclusive of, ribbon colour selection mechanism, ribbon advance and reverse mechanisms, line space mechanism, typebar action etc.) have been checked and adjusted as necessary, and work now as originally manufactured. The platen roller is clean and smooth, in fine condition. The paper feeder rollers are in excellent condition and soft. The feet are in fine condition. The characters have all been checked and aligned. Everything on this typewriter is original to its manufacture and original purchase.
