Swissa Piccola 1950
This is a lovely, Swiss manufactured, portable SWISSA Piccola typewriter from the middle of the last century. It is working perfectly and ready to type! The smoothness of the Swiss engineering and manufacture has to be experienced to be believed. Smooth, solid and quiet; a real joy to type with. It comes with the original user manual (in German) and factory guarantee. The platen rubber has been newly renovated. This typewriter has been fully cleaned, adjusted and carefully serviced inside and out, and has a new ribbon so you can start typing immediately. All technical aspects have been tested and are working as originally.

This typewriter is in nearly perfect cosmetic condition. The keys are in lovely condition with no scratches and only a very few keys show some enamel loss of the letter outline. The chrome is largely in fine condition although the carriage return lever shows some light chrome loss. The paper feed rollers are soft and pliable and ready to work for years to come. The rubber feet are like new.
On the bottom of this Piccola you will see a small metal seal attached to the typewriter. This is the official Swissa factory seal. It is marvelous that it is still intact on this typewriter and gives some indication as to the care in which this typewriter was cared for and used over the years.
This typewriter has the QWERTY (US/UK) keyboard and the typeface is PICA 10 cpi. (see example in photos) The keyboard has all the accents needed for most European languages. We have outfitted this machine with a new, bi-colour ribbon on one of its original metal ribbon spools. You can see in the photo how nice the typing looks on paper: dark, crisp and clear.
Based on the serial number (839846) this machine is from 1950. Although, it must be noted that serial number records for the Swissa factory were lost some years ago and this is an estimation of the manufacturing date.

This SWISSA Piccola comes with its original hard case in excellent condition--strong and safe. It has very minor cosmetic wear on the outside. The inside is in very nice condition.
