SORRY, SOLD! 1955, All-Black, Erika Model 10 Typewriter
  • SORRY, SOLD! 1955, All-Black, Erika Model 10 Typewriter

A typewriter collector, who is a regular client of Acme, once accused me of having a "time machine" in which I went back in time to get my typewriters. He just could not believe the quality and condition of my typewriters. For the record, it is not true. What is true is that I hunt relentlessly throughout Europe for typewriters for my clients. For every one that I buy, I probably have rejected 50. This is one of the finest examples of the Model 10 typewriter that we have ever found.

This Erika is an extraordinarily fine ERIKA Model 10 typewriter in pristine condition, cosmetically and mechanically, from 1955. It comes complete with original case and cleaning brushes all in pristine condition. This typewriter has not been repainted; it is all original. It also comes with two metal ribbons spools and, of course, a new ribbon.

[Note when comparing to other similar Erikas online, that this one has a QWERTY keyboard (not the German QWERTZ layout, is in perfect condition, has excellent rubber on the platen and elsewhere, AND that it has been restored by Acme, a known and respected dealer.]

The styling is sublime, the typing action is steady and fast, solid but soft to the touch. Erika typewriters are well-known and well-respected for the unique lever system they have for typing. This system gives a more relaxed "touch" than standard typewriters.  It has an QWERTY international keyboard with keys for European languages and the typeface is a beautiful Erika Pica (10 cpi). It has a new ribbon on the original metal spools, and is ready to type.

Acme typewriters have been the choice of discerning collectors and writers more than 1,000 times since we began selling online in 2016. They are fully guaranteed to work. Most shipments to the US arrive in 3 days--often much faster than most domestic shipments within the US. Acme typewriters are carefully selected, beautifully restored and come with a one-year mechanical warranty and lifetime customer-service. Each comes with a lead seal, attached to the body, identifying it as a fully-restored Acme typewriter. Many new dealers strive to imitate us--none succeed.

This Model 10 comes with the original hard case. The case is in superb condition externally and internally.

The paint finish is all original, as are all other aspects of this beautiful typewriter.
