Alpina N24 Typewriter 1955
1955 ALPINA N24 typewriter in blue-gray with dark gray keys in wonderful condition, It is a curvy delight; a tribute to mid-century modern design. This typewriter has been cleaned, serviced and is ready to use with a new ribbon from Baco Ribbon & Supply in Missouri (considered by many collectors to be the best ribbons available).
This is the renowned, but relatively rare ALPINA N24 model typewriter. A wonderful, solid typewriter with superb mechanics and a lovely, mid-century design. Robert Messenger, who writes the well-respected OzTypewriter blog, has called the Alpina "perhaps the finest typewriter I have ever used". Other respected typewriter lovers have echoed that sentiment.
This is a fully-working--as original--typewriter. The only thing that you have to do is sit down, put paper on the roller and start typing. This Alpina comes with the "Acme" lead certification seal attached to the typewriter. This seal permanently identifies this typewriter as a genuine Acme-restored typewriter and provides for a 6-month warranty at no charge. (See below for details.) We guarantee safe delivery and provide careful and attentive after-purchase advice and assistance from the date of purchase to the end of eternity to ensure your full satisfaction. In terms of an investment, the Acme Seal proves that this machine was restored in 2023 by the Acme Type Machine Company. This particular ALPINA is a wonderful example of the N24 model, in excellent condition mechanically and cosmetically. The nice, tight feel of the typing makes it a pleasure to use. The wonderful design makes it a pleasure to display. The platen roller is in fine, smooth and clean condition with a hardness rating of ~91-92 (ideal is 85-95). The paper feeder rollers are in excellent condition. The rubber feet grip the desktop well. Overall, this machine is in excellent cosmetic condition and working perfectly. There are a few very minor cosmetic signs of prior use and these are all visible in the photos.
The keyboard is QWERTY and the typeface is Pica 10 cpi. (see example in photos). It also has keys for European languages.
There is a case available for it at an extra charge. This can be discussed with the buyer.
