Adler Junior-E Typewriter 1960

This is a lovely and uncommon ADLER Junior-E typewriter in a beautiful two-tone gray and white colour with cream-coloured keys. The Adler Primus is a serious typewriter with Tabs and all the functions of a serious, well-designed typing machine. The ADLER Junior-E is a "Desktop Portable" sturdy enough to be taken anywhere and yet at home on a desktop. The styling is decidedly mid-century with wonderful curves and yet a "modern" look. This model comes with the tabulator system.
Although not very common in the US, Adlers are prized for the precise feel smooth smooth key action. The carriage movement and escapement have the feel of a Swiss watch. This is a wonderful typewriter for the collector because of its excellent condition. In addition, it is a great typewriter for the writer: smooth, solid and dependable with a wonderful light typing action.
The keyboard is standard English (US/UK) QWERTY. The typeface is Pica, 10 characters to the inch.
This example is in excellent cosmetic condition and working perfectly with a new ribbon. It has been fully reconditioned, adjusted and aligned and has been outfitted with a new BACO, two-colour ribbon. It is definitely is ready for many more decades of use.
This fine ADLER Primus comes with its original case. The case is in very nice condition.

Every aspect of this typewriter is in excellent condition, from the exterior finish, to the interior mechanics, to the rubber parts. The platen is smooth, clean and with a nice hardness rating of 94 (durometer, Scale A; Ideal: 85-95). (See typing sample in photos.) The chrome is all in gorgeous condition. 
The keyboard is English standard QWERTY and the typeface is a beautiful Elite with 11 characters to the inch. This typewriter has the tabulator system for typing in columns etc.

This typewriter comes with the original case in excellent condition inside and outside. There is, unfortunately some corrosion in the chrome parts and the handle is discoloured with a break in the plastic. But the handle is strong and the entire case serves the purpose well.
