Facit Privat 1960

This is an uncommon typewriter, a 1960 Facit Privat, in dove-gray body colour with forest-green accents. It is in absolutely superb condition in every way. It has been fully serviced, aligned and adjusted. It has a new two-colour ribbon and comes with a "leather" case in near-perfect condition. This is a fully-working--as original--typewriter. The only thing that you have to do is sit down, put paper on the roller and start typing. It comes with a full mechanical guarantee for 3 months. This typewriter comes from the same factory as the famous Halda portable typewriter. The Facit Privat typewriter has been called the "Prince of the Typewriters" by the great and respected Robert Messenger. He says that it is "attractive to the eye, has a nice light typing touch, yet is still very workmanlike". I cannot improve on his description.

This is a typewriter from the former collection of a well respected collector in the Netherlands. It was purchased new from the high-end office supply company Blikman & Sartorius in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The colour on this typewriter is a lovely dove-gray with deep green keys. It is a very handsome combination. All of this is original to the manufacture of this typewriter. The shift on this typewriter is a basket shift.

The keyboard is standard English language QWERTY with accents for foreign languages. The typeface is Pica (10 c.p.i.).

Regarding the rubber: Platen Roller is clean and smooth with a durometer reading of ~95. The paper feed rollers are soft and in fine condition. The rubber on the baseplate is new-like and soft.
Regarding the chrome: Perfect and unblemished.
Regarding the Body condition: No blemishes or fading anywhere.
Regarding the mechanical condition: Working perfectly, as originally manufactured.

Comes with the original case which, too, is in excellent condition inside and outside. There are only the most negligible signs of wear on the outside of the case. The interior is a beautiful green colour with almost no signs of age or use and a perfectly preserved lining.

Based on the serial number (P234771) this machine was manufactured in 1960.
