Hermes Baby Typewriter 1960

Hermes is one of the most renowned brands and models of typewriter ever made, and this is a nice example of the "Baby" model, also known as the "Rocket", from 1959. This is the perfect portable typing machine, weighing only ~3.6kg/8 lbs! This typewriter is in fine condition, mechanically and cosmetically, and has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, adjusted and aligned. It is a typing machine that is ready to work for another 60 years of typing service. And with its brilliant Hermes engineering, it does that with elegance, smoothness and solidity.

It comes with the "Acme" lead certification seal attached to the typewriter which permanently identifies it as a genuine Acme-restored typewriter and provides for a 6-month warranty. Mechanically, it is in excellent working condition. The platen-roller is clean and smooth. It is a little harder than ideal with a hardness measuring ~94 (Shore A scale; Ideal is 85 - 95)). The paper feeder rollers clean and soft. All mechanisms have been tested and adjusted. It has been fitted with a new bi-colour ribbon so you can start typing immediately.  Everything on this typewriter is original to its manufacture and purchase except  new rubber feet on the base and the new ribbon. The chrome is is fine condition. The body finish shows some signs of fading and age.
The keyboard is a QWERTY keyboard (English language) and has the elegant typeface of Hermes Pica (10 cpi). It has extra characters for Spanish and other European languages.
The case/cover is in beautiful condition both inside and out. The base has some scratching.
