A wonderful ERIKA Model 12 typewriter in fine condition from 1961. Comes complete with original case and cleaning brush kit. It has been fully restored, adjusted, aligned and cleaned. A new BACO, two-colour ribbon has been installed and it is ready for typing with that wonderful Erika feel that no other typewriter has. In beautiful condition cosmetically and mechanically.
If you want a fine example of a Model 12, Erika typewriter this would be a fine choice. The mechanical aspects of this typewriter are superb. It was lightly used and carefully maintained. All the mechanical elements are in brilliant condition. This Model 12 is the "Pullman" model which has a small lever on the right which allows the ribbon cover to raise gently for ribbon replacement, cleaning, inspection, etc.
This is a fully-working--as original--typewriter. The only thing that you have to do is sit down, put paper on the roller and start typing. It comes with the Acme lead seal and a full mechanical warranty for 6 months. The styling is sublime, the typing action is springy and fast, yet solid to the touch. The lovely deep green colour of the keys and platen knobs add a rich counterpoint to the colour scheme.
It has an original QWERTY keyboard and the typeface is a beautiful Erika Pica (10 cpi). It has a new BACO ribbon (the choice of discerning collectors) and is ready to type.
This Erika typewriter is in superb condition mechanically. Everything works as it was originally manufactured. All keys type as new, the platen-roller is clean, undamaged and still soft with an excellent softness measurement of 90 (Durometer, Shore A scale. Ideal is 85-90.) The paper feed rollers are as soft as new as are the feet.
Cosmetically, there are some small spots here and there of use and wear. These are mostly on the back panel of the typewriter, out of view. The Chrome is in excellent condition and all levers and buttons work as original.This Model 12 comes with the original "leather" case. The case is in excellent condition, inside and outside.
