  • SORRY, SOLD! 1961 Triumph Gabriele-E Typewriter

    €420.00Price

TRIUMPH Gabriele-E typewriter from 1961 in khaki and cream colours. This is called the "Safari" model by many. This typewriter has all original colours, has been fully serviced, adjusted and aligned, and is in beautiful condition cosmetically. Triumph typewriters were not heavily exported from Germany and so, finding one like this with an original QWERTY keyboard is a bit of a rarity.
It has a great mid-century look and is perfect for typing on safari or on the desktop.

Like all of our typewriters this is a fully-working typewriter. It comes with the "Acme" lead certification seal attached to the typewriter which permanently identifies it as a genuine Acme-restored typewriter and provides for a one year warranty. We guarantee safe delivery and provide careful and attentive after-purchase advice and assistance from the date of purchase to the end of eternity to ensure your full satisfaction. In terms of an investment, the Acme Seal proves that this machine was restored by the Acme Type Machine Company. This can add value in the event that you wish to sell this typewriter in the future.

This Gabriele-E typewriter is, mechanically, in top working condition. All buttons and levers work smoothly and correctly. On our workbench it has been properly serviced and adjusted so that it is ready for decades more fine typing. Cosmetically, it has very few signs of age and use.

The keyboard is international QWERTY with accents for foreign languages and the typeface is a very refined Elite (12 cpi). See photo. The platen roller is in fine condition and makes a fine impression of the characters on paper. It comes with a new two-colour ribbon so you can start typing immediately. The paper feed rollers are in fine condition and the rubber feet are in top condition and grip the desk well.

This typewriter is a solid typing machine with a lovely, light "touch", good, fast speed and a tight feel to all the mechanical movements. This version of the Triumph has the sought-after "Tabs" for "tabulating" columns.

This fine TRIUMPH Gabriele-E comes with its original case, which is in very good condition except for a crack on one side of the bottom plate. The parts that hold the typewriter to the base of the case are worn and do not hold the typewriter as tightly to the base as originally. Nonetheless, the case works well in carrying and protecting the typewriter.
