1965 Princess 300 Typewriter with leather case
This extraordinary, lovely, gray and cream, Princess 300, from 1965 will have an elegant presence on your desk or in your office. It has been professionally serviced, aligned and adjusted. It is in superb mechanical and cosmetic condition. This is the original colour and finish; it has not been repainted. This is one of the technically finest typewriters manufactured in the mid-20th century. This typewriter is truly a "statement" on the desk of any serious poet, screenwriter, journalist, novelist or the occasional letter-writer. It is an extraordinary writing instrument for an extraordinary person. This typewriter comes with the original leather case, handbook, typebar holder and original metal ribbon spools.
Acme typewriters has long been the choice of discerning collectors and writers. Acme typewriters are carefully selected, beautifully restored and come with a one-year mechanical warranty and lifetime customer-service. Each comes with a lead seal, attached to the body, identifying it as a fully-restored Acme typewriter. Most shipments to the US arrive in 3 days--often much faster than most domestic shipments within the US. Many new dealers strive to imitate us--none succeed.
We have restored dozens of these Princess typewriters over the years and I am always impressed by the overall high quality, mechanical design and the smoothness with which they operate. As an example, the ribbon colour selector switch on the left is as cool as they come. When you switch to red or no-colour a little colour-block comes into the glass window above the switch. Tabs are set (and removed) at the touch of a finger with the special key on the right side.
The platen roller is clean and smooth and the typing impression is strong and clear (see photo). The gold Princess logo is bright and shiny. All the chrome is in fine condition. The keytops are in excellent condition with no fingernail scratching. The painted finish has no noticeable blemishes. As compared to many Princesses I see for sale, this has the original QWERTY keyboard common to English language writers. And this one has extra keys for European languages. The typeface is a crisp Pica (10 c.p.i.) and there is a new ribbon freshly installed.
The deLuxe leather case--unusual for a Princess--is in excellent condition. The interior lining is in perfect condition. The exterior of this lovely faux calf-leather case is in super condition with only the slightest signs of wear.
