Hermes 3000 1969

This is an excellent HERMES 3000, one of the most renowned brands and models of typewriter ever made! And this is a wonderful, well-maintained example from 1969. It is in excellent condition, mechanically and cosmetically, and has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced and has been outfitted with a new ribbon. The typeface is an uncommon one: Director Spéciale, which is, effectively. an Elite font with Pica spacing. It gives the words on the page a lightness combined with elegance.

The platen was replaced very recently (professionally, but not by Acme) at which time a complete service and cleaning was also performed. The typewriter has been fully cleaned, serviced and adjusted by us as well. The typing keys are in pristine condition and the chrome pieces are all unblemished and shiny. The paper feed rollers are all soft and grip the paper well. The rubber feet are in excellent condition and serve well to hold the typewriter to the desktop.

You have to type on this machine to believe how beautifully these Hermes 3000's respond to a typist's fingers. As soft as butter and as smooth as silk.

This HERMES 3000 has a QWERTY keyboard (US/UK).  It comes with a new ribbon on two metal ribbon spools (one of which is Hermes-branded) so you can start to type immediately.

This model comes with the wonderful red margin indicators built into the paper guard which moves automatically when the margins are set. This is so that you can visually see the exact placement of the margins while you are typing. A wonderful touch!

There are a couple of very small areas of paint wear. These can be seen in the photos to the left and right of the space bar. Other than that this machine is in beautiful cosmetic condition. The platen roller knobs are in excellent condition with no signs of cracking (as is common with Later Hermes 3000s).

Overall, this Hermes 3000 is in top condition and working perfectly.

As usual, this HERMES 3000 comes with its original case/cover which is in excellent condition, but only lacking the key. The chrome on the handle is in fine, shiny condition. The handle is strong and undamaged.
