Hermes Baby (New Old Stock) 1970

This is an extraordinary and beautiful HERMES Baby, one of the most renowned brands and models of typewriter ever made. And this particular Baby is NEW OLD STOCK, meaning that it was never sold commercially or used prior to it being offered here. This typewriter is 50 years old and is as new. This, for one who appreciates the technical brilliance of Hermes Typewriters, is a once in a lifetime opportunity. The price tag is still affixed to the front and shows a price of 279.30 Dutch guilders. In today's money that is the equivalent of around 600$. This was the iPad of the 1970s.
We are offering this extraordinary typewriter with a full mechanical warranty for one year and no extra charge for shipping with insurance. 
This is a typing machine that is ready to work for 50 more years of typing service. And with its brilliant Hermes engineering, it will do that with elegance, smoothness and solidity.
Overall, this typewriter is in perfect, original condition. There are no signs of use or wear. The chrome is in wonderful condition with no signs of corrosion. The keys are clean and unmarked by use. Both platen roller knobs are absolutely solid and clean without any cracks, scratches, discolouration or other damage. The body finish is flawless and, overall, sparkling and glossy. 
Mechanically, it is in perfect working condition, operating as if new. The platen is in untouched condition. The platen rubber measures ~94 on the durometer (82-95 generally being considered ideal). The paper feeder rollers are in perfect condition and soft. The rubber feet are unblemished by use or storage and are soft, gripping the desktop well. All mechanical devices and mechanisms have been checked and work as originally manufactured. If you prefer to have a newly-renovated platen roller that can be arrange after purchase for a cost of 95$.
This typewriter has a QWERTY international keyboard (standard English layout) with accents for European languages. The typeface is a beautiful Hermes Elite, 13 c.p.i. This is the smaller Hermes Elite with an escapement of 2mm per character (as opposed to the larger Elite with 2.12mm per character.
The case/cover,  is in absolutely excellent, as new condition. The chrome is unblemished and there are no scratches or other blemishes. The base is unscratched and in perfect condition.
