Erika Typewriter, rare Model 11 with Congress Typeface
Erika Model 11 portable typewriter with rare Congress typeface.
Germany, mid-20th century (1957)The Erika Model 11 is a compact portable produced in limited numbers, combining the mechanical refinement of the earlier Erika Models 10 and 12 within a reduced and highly balanced form. Fewer than 50,000 examples were manufactured.
This example has been professionally restored, preserving original operating characteristics. The typing action is light and responsive, paired with a fast, controlled carriage return. The machine types in Congress Elite typeface. The keyboard is QWERTY with keys for European languages.
Designed for portability without compromise, the Model 11 retains the precise action and structural solidity for which Erika machines are known. The design is functional and restrained, with proportions that reflect its intended purpose.
Accompanied by its original hard carrying case, original metal ribbon spools. A new ribbon is installed.
Discreetly marked with the Acme restoration seal, indicating professional restoration completed in 2026 by Acme Studios.
