Hermes 2000 Typewriter with French keyboard (AZERTY)

This is a lovely example of a post-war HERMES 2000, a classic typewriter, in a rich black finish! This is a well-maintained machine from 1946. It is in very fine condition, mechanically and cosmetically, has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, adjusted and aligned and has been outfitted with a new ribbon. It comes with the original case and Hermes-branded key. 
You have to type on this machine to experience how beautifully these Hermes 2000's respond to a typist's fingers. The 2000 has long been overshadowed by the well-known Hermes 3000, but I believe unjustly so. It has a less heavy feel and a more traditional look than the early model Hermes 3000's. The 2000 is a more difficult typewriter to find especially in the black colour (which is all original).

Cosmetically, this Hermes 2000 is in exceptional condition. The finish colour is uniform and with only a few minor signs of age or use. Mechanically, this typewriter is working as originally manufactured. The tabulator system is in good working order as is every other mechanical function. All the mechanical aspects have been checked and properly adjusted and aligned. The platen roller is clean and smooth.  The typing keys are in excellent condition with no evident wear (as is often found on these models). The paper feed rollers are all soft, smooth and grip the paper well. The rubber feet are in fine condition. The platen roller knobs are solid and strong and in perfect condition.
The typeface/font is a beautiful Hermes Elite with 12 characters to the inch. The keyboard is AZERTY with keys for European languages. This typewriter comes, as mentioned, with a new ribbon so that you can start typing immediately and with pleasure.
