[NOTE: For US buyers the price includes all import tariffs and customs duties.]

An Olivetti Lettera 32 manufactured in Spain in 1976, in its original salmon-coloured finish and completely unblemished. Come with deLuxe case and original Olivetti cleaning kit. It carries the uncommon Quadrato typeface, a design of squared letterforms first intended for the Olivetti Valentine. The keyboard is QWERTY with additional European characters, and the machine comes with a leatherette travelling case in very fine condition.

The Lettera 32 was introduced in 1963 as the successor to the Lettera 22, to a design by Marcello Nizzoli. It was manufactured at Ivrea in Italy and in Spain, where Olivetti's subsidiary Hispano Olivetti had opened its Barcelona factory in 1942. Quadrato is one of Olivetti's own typefaces, attributed to Arturo Rolfo. Its letters are squared rather than round, which gives a typed page an appearance quite unlike that of the standard faces. This machine has the Elite Quadrato typeface with 11.5 characters to the inch.

The salmon-coloured finish is completely unblemished: there are no signs of wear or use and no loss of paint. The keyboard is QWERTY but is available also in QWERTZ layout. The machine is accompanied by a zipped leatherette travelling case of independent manufacture, in very fine condition; both zips are undamaged and fully working.

This typewriter has been reconditioned and restored by Acme Type Machine Company. The mechanism has been carefully cleaned, adjusted and calibrated; the original finish is unaltered. It bears the permanent Acme Seal, attached discreetly on the mechanism, identifying restoration within our workshop and providing enduring provenance.
