Arabic/Persian Typewriter! 1949 Olympia SM1
A wonderful, Persian/Arabic language, Olympia SM1 typewriter from 1949! A rare beast indeed! It has an Persian/Arabic language typeface/font, has been fully professionally reconditioned, and is ready to type with a new ribbon!
This typewriter originally belonged to an Iranian man who emigrated to Europe from Tehran just after World War II. The man was a scholar in Tehran specializing in Comparative Persian literature.
The typewriter itself is already quite interesting. It is amongst the very first typewriters from Olympia that constituted the SM1, the beginning of the famous SM model line—one of the most important and influential typewriter designs ever made.
Acme typewriters has long been the choice of discerning collectors and writers. Acme typewriters are carefully selected, beautifully restored and come with a one-year mechanical warranty and lifetime customer-service. Each comes with a "signature seal", attached to the body, identifying it as a fully-restored Acme typewriter. Most shipments to the US arrive in 3 days--often much faster than most domestic. Many new dealers strive to imitate us--none succeed.
Mechanically this typewriter is in top working condition. Everything works as it should and as originally designed. The platen rubber and the rubber feet on the base are in top condition and grip the desktop well.
This fine example of a Persian/Arabic Olympia Typewriter will be packed and shipped with the greatest care to preserve its condition and beauty. We have a lot of experience in shipping typewriters and have an excellent track record for proper packing and safe delivery. It will be fully insured during shipment.
