SORRY, SOLD! Pristine 1965 Hermes Baby Typewriter

We "restorers" dream of finding typewriters like this! In, basically, new condition. We can feel the difference between a new machine and one even moderately used. And what a joy to be able to find a typewriter in this condition—and a Hermes baby at that! With original QWERTY keyboard and in immaculate condition we are pleased to offer it to its next owner. The body is all-metal, not the later—in my mind somewhat inferior—plastic version. So if you are in the market for a Hermes, this is the one for you!
This Hermes Baby was given as a graduation present to a Dutch Arts & Design student upon completion of her studies at university. She never really found it useful for her work and it lay unused for decades. We recently acquired it and now it can be yours.
Hermes is one of the most renowned brands and models of typewriter ever made, and this is a fabulous example of the "Baby" model, also known as the "Rocket", from 1965. This is the perfect portable typing machine, weighing only ~3.6kg/8 lbs! This one has been thoroughly serviced and is ready to work for another 60 years of typing service. And with its brilliant Hermes engineering, it does that with elegance, smoothness and solidity.
The keyboard, as mentioned, is QWERTY, with keys for European languages, and has a typeface of Hermes Elite (11 cpi). It has been fitted with a new ribbon so you can start typing immediately.  The typewriter works perfectly just as if it arrived directly from the factory. The platen is smooth and clean and the platen knobs are in perfect, solid condition (always an issue with Hermes Baby's). The chrome is in perfect condition. The only tiny flaw is a very small area of rubbing on the front left corner. The case/cover is in perfect condition with shiny chrome and no points of wear. You can tell a lot about the use of a Hermes Baby by the rear lip of the cover. This is where it will rub with use and this one is absolutely pristine (see photo).
