Rare and Fine 1957 Triumph Typewriter in All-White!
An absolutely exceptional typewriter! Extraordinary in its colour, and in its stunning, new-like condition. This Triumph typewriter, from 1955, comes with its original metal case in superb condition, original User Manual and factory typing test (still in their original acetate sleeve), and Triumph-branded cleaning brushes and polishing cloth. All logos are original and intact--something that is very rare in Triumph typewriters.
Originally in a doctor's office in Nuremberg, Germany, it ended up with the doctor's descendants who have passed it on to us. The external design of this "Perfekt" Model typewriter is evocative of many aspects of mid-century design. The internal mechanics are as good as they come. Those who know Triumphs know what I am talking about. What a feel! As smooth as silk and fast as lightning. The typing is tight and fast and there is no carriage in the entire typewriter kingdom that moves as smoothly or lightly.
This is a near perfect example of the Perfekt typewriter. This model comes with a tabulator system and was considered a "high end" typewriter when it was introduced. This one is in exceptionally fine cosmetic condition and it is working perfectly. The typeface is a very handsome Elite (11 characters per inch) and the keyboard is German-standard QWERTZ. We will convert the keyboard to English-standard QWERTY upon request. This typewriter has been fully serviced, completely cleaned, aligned, adjusted and lubricated for years of good service. It has been outfitted with a new bi-colour ribbon so you can start typing immediately.

The platen roller is in lovely condition, smooth and clean. The paper feed rollers, which are a composition material of rubber and cork are in fine condition and grip the paper well. The rubber feet are still in fine condition and soft, holding the typewriter well to the desktop. The chrome is shiny and unblemished. The painted finish is in excellent condition however with some nearly insignificant signs of use.
The original hard metal case is in equally fine condition as the typewriter itself. The Triumph logo is intact and lovely, the handle is solid and the chrome is in very fine condition. The rubber feet of the case are soft and intact.

In Germany, the company began to focus on the manufacture of typewriters instead of bicycles and motorcycles. During World War II production of typewriters ceased as arms production was started. In 1953 Triumph was taken over by Grundig, merged with Adlerwerke and renamed Triumph-Adler and in 1957 the popular Gabriele portable typewriter and an electric typewriter were introduced. In 1979 the company was acquired by Volkswagen and in 1986 by the Italian typewriter company, Olivetti. Typewriter production was closed down in 1997.
