A 1961 Torpedo Model 18 typewriter in exceptional, near‑new condition, preserved in its original two‑tone finish. It has been fully reconditioned to its original factory functioning and is ready for decades of future use.
The Model 18 is regarded as one of the most refined mid‑century German portables, admired for its balanced mechanics, clarity of touch, and understated industrial design. 
This example retains its original paintwork, with chrome surfaces in excellent condition and body panels showing minimal signs of age. The typing action is fast, precise, and notably solid. The platen is clean and smooth, taking the imprint well, and the rubber feet have been replaced to ensure proper stability. The machine is fitted with a fresh ribbon and includes two vintage metal spools.
