A 1976 Erika Model 50 in exceptional, near‑new condition, preserved in its original blue‑and‑white finish and fitted with an Arabic typeface. The machine has been professionally restored, cleaned, and adjusted, and is supplied with a fresh ribbon. It is accompanied by its original user handbook and factory typing sample.
This typewriter was owned by a writer who emigrated from Damascus in the early 1980s and used it for poetry inspired by Rumi. It has been kept with notable care, and its condition reflects that history.
Erika machines were produced by Seidel & Naumann in Dresden and are regarded for their precision, reliability, and balanced mechanical design. The Model 50 is one of the most respected later‑generation portables in the Erika line.
Mechanically, this example is in full original working order. The platen is smooth and clean, producing a crisp impression, and the rubber feet remain in excellent condition.
